SAFWA-PRIMA PROJECT

The center of Biotechnology of sfax (CBS) is the coordinator of SAFWA project and is involved in all the WPs.

CBS

CBS is the coordinator of SAFWA project The Centre of Biotechnology of Sfax (CBS), created in 1983, is among the biggest and the most relevant research centre of biotechnology in Tunisia. CBS is certified ISO 9001/2015 in Research & Development, valorization and technology transfer activities since 2017 by AFAQ AFNOR International. The CBS is involved in this project with the Biopesticides laboratory which has collaborations on different aspects of this thematic, particularly those related to the development of new ecofriendly biopesticides that solve problems caused by plant pests (insects) and pathogens (fungi and bacteria).

JKI

JKI: The Julius Kühn-Institut (JKI) is the Federal Research Center for Cultivated Plants in Germany. It has 1,300 staff members, thereof about 450 scientists, in 17 specialized institutes as well as several service units. JKI conducts research in the fields of plant protection and plant health, plant genetics, crop cultivation, plant nutrition and soil science. JKI looks back on a long history of research and development of strategies for plant protection as well as in all fields of assessment of plant protection products and methods.

TBI-INSAT

TBI-INSAT work has applications in the sectors of health, biotechnologies, water and environment, food processing and agribusiness, and chemistry. TBI is multidisciplinary (microbiology, biocatalysis, bioprocesses, separation techniques…); it works on uniting Systems Biology, Processes and Engineering, and has a triple engagement centered on Research, Training, and Transfer and Exploitation. With the ambitious aim of federating competence “from gene to process” while combining scientific excellence with economic and social pertinence, TBI is crossing divisions, applying a multi-scale strategy, and building networks in the local and international environment.

USJ

USJ Saint-Joseph University (USJ) is a private university founded in 1875 in Lebanon, with 35 Faculties and Institutes in various fields of sciences. MEDIS

MEDIS Laboratoires MédiS is a public limited company under Tunisian law with the mandate to manufacture and market various generic drugs. MEDIS is one of the Tunisian leaders in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in drug formulation, who works on biotech products and biopesticides to develop new lines for green health.

UVEG

UVEG: UVEG: The University of Valencia (founded in 1499), currently stands out as one of the main public research organizations in Spain, with more than three thousand researchers integrated with 86 departments, 19 institutes, and other research units belonging to social, biomedical, human, experimental and formal sciences. One of the research groups is the Biotechnological Control of Pests (CBP, http://cbp.uv.es/), belonging to the Institute of Biotechnology and biomedicine (BIOTECMEB) which participates in this project proposal. The main objective of CBP is to control pests by using microbial insecticides and mainly the ones based on the bacterium B. thuringiensis. It is an international reference group with 3 decades of experience, which has provided the expertise to work on all topics related to these toxins

BIYANS

BIYANS: Biyans Biological Products LTD is established in 2009 with the support of the Turkish Republic Ministry of Industry Techno-entrepreneurship Program. Biyans works in the field of agriculture and environment with R&D and applied projects which are specially developed according to the needs of the customers. BIYANS is an innovative company which have experience in biological pest control, pesticide and bio-pesticide efficiency assessment through lab, semi-field and field trials, as well as in the commercialisation of biological pest control agents from lab to end users.

IRTA

IRTA: is a research institute owned by the Government of Catalonia adscribed to the Ministry of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda. IRTA‘s mission is to contribute to modernising, improving, boosting competitiveness, and fostering sustainable development in the sectors of agriculture, food, agroforestry, aquaculture and fishing, as well as in all areas of activity directly or indirectly related to the supply of healthy, high-quality foodstuffs to end consumers, while also contributing to food safety and safe processing of foodstuffs and in general enhancing the health and well-being of the population.

CTA

CTA : The  Citrus Technical Center CTA undertakes the following general tasks: Ensure the adaptation of the research results with the real conditions of the farms and carry out the programs relating to the implementation of these results;  Ensure popularization actions allowing the rapid and effective transfer of technical progress in this field; Organize the dissemination of effective techniques to ensure rational use of recorded data; Provide technical and economic support to producers in order to help them solve their problems; Develop exchanges with similar national or foreign organizations of the same interest as well as with international organizations.

UNISG: The University of Gastronomic Sciences (UNISG) is an international leader for the study, research, transmission and innovative processing of knowledge in the field of Gastronomic Sciences, focusing in particular on the relationship between food, ecology and sustainability. UNISG research specialization is founded on the multidisciplinarity that characterizes the gastronomic context. The methodological approach springs from the University’s founding principles and is based on the issues of sustainable food as a form of sustenance and of improvement of the planet’s human and natural conditions.
